Can one family have a huge impact on the lives of many? If the nonfiction novel “In Cold Blood” isn't familiar to you, it’s about a well-loved family called the Clutters, which contained 4 (Mr, Ms Clutters, Nancy, Kyenon), members who were brutally murdered by 2 men, Dick and Perry, in a town called Holcomb. This caused a big reaction in their town, with people panicking in fear, breaking trust within the community, buying many locks, and of course, causing a deep depression. However, the murders weren’t caught right away because it was so well thought out that a detective, Dewey, had to get himself involved in the case, which took several months to solve. Yet, during that period, we see the progress Dewey made to get closer to the killers, the lives of the people who were affected by the Clutter's death, the lives of the murders with some backstory, their trial, and lastly, the few final moments of Dick and Perry before they were taken to the death penalty. At least not at first. But over time, seeing how much pain you caused them and let's say that hypocritically they're a good person may be your favorite, which makes breaking their toy more painful later on. Something similar happened to one of the murders, Perry. As mentioned in the nonfiction “In cold Blood” page 253, “The man being torn apart. the idea that maybe that was what they did to him.” Though this alone doesn't say much, it's the starting point on how this murder went down hill. After Perry was sent to prison (Ladies cell) he was having a self battle against his morals. Though it was because he was alone, he couldn't bury his true feelings. Throughout the whole section he doesn't say anything about regrets of murder but you can see his conscience fighting, a season of depression, neglecting food, and also a bit of socializing.
