The day went on and Cindy went on to another adventure. Cindy forgot about her super smart candy mix in the freezer. Brandy and Cindy’s mommy and daddy were in the kitchen reading the newspaper and wanted a glass of ice water. Cindy and Brandy’s mommy got two glasses and pulled the cubed tray from the freezer; popping out four frozen cubes of ice, placing two in each glass.
( (Note: illustrations will be included that will have a picture of the numbered count of ice shown in two glasses)
Then their mommy added the water. Cindy’s mommy had no idea Cindy had filled the ice cube tray with a water and a sugar mix. Cindy’s mommy and daddy took a drink from their glasses and knew something was wrong with the ice.
“Cindy. Brandy.” Their mommy called. “Do either of you have any idea why mommies and daddies ice water has a super sweet taste?”

Cindy was sad because she knew she should not have been in the sugar or playing in the kitchen. Brandy was sad because she knew that Cindy was the reason for mommies and daddies ice water tasting like sugar and did not want Cindy to get punished. Cindy did not want to get into trouble so she replied, “ no. I do not know why it tastes like sugar. But it sure sounds delicious!” Cindy said with a little side

Ted uses a lot of imagery in his free verse poem “Depression Glass” by using our five senses: see, touch, taste, feel, and hear. In line one, “It seemed those rose-pink dishes”, seems to be the main focus in this poem while they are used for special occasions, they still have an issue keeping something hot, “the plates like the panes of ice”. He used metaphors twice to compare the rose-pink dishes always being cold as ice and the cups’ inability to keep coffee or other beverages hot, “everyday mug would have kept/a splash hot for the better”. I take this as perhaps a regular mug would have been a better choice, but the hostess realized that it would have just clashed with the rest of the set like an eyesore.…

Often referred to a "found" poem, William Carlos Williams's piece, “This Is Just To Say,” is said to be an apologetic note left for a loved one. Williams tries to disguise the incident within the poem as something minuscule and nonchalant but deeper analysis reveals this poem is an apology for a graver adulterous crime rather than just eating some plums. It’s title and overall structure sets the initial aura of nonchalance and casualness. Although simple, the diction allows the reader to recognize an intimate connection between speaker and reader as well as setting a sensual tone as he describes the plums. Further, biblical allusions connect the plums to the forbidden fruit making them a symbol for adultery.…

For one family a snow day will bring out the best in them and the worst in them. They will get to experience several emotions. Family is everything, and regardless of what they do or how they act , there is always going to be a special bond between family. " Let it Snow" by David Sedaris was a powerful story because the plot was dysfunctional, amusing, and through everything he showed a family that was loving and devoted to one another. Dysfunctional is definitely a true description of the family in this story, I was in disbelief of some of their actions.…
