In 2013, it was a difficult year for me, mainly because I felt that I was in a career that I was not meant to be. I started the Department of Corrections in 2010 not because I wanted this career, but because the U.S. economy collapse and needed a job to pay the bills, since I got let go from my previous employer. When I started working I felt satisfied and future-oriented that my family’s future is strong. So fast forward three years and in 2013, I found it very tough to get up in the morning and go to work since I found myself being stressed and less productive.
Then one moment I realize that I need to step up and do something that I enjoy, something that is creative and maybe change the world, therefore I enrolled in College to change my career path. So in 2013, I decided to enroll at Rio Salado to obtain a degree and leave my job to a better career. By looking the personality type sheet, I found myself to be “INTJ”. I found myself to interact with the world very less and usually would like to be left alone, so I can pace myself on my own time and focus on my goals one step at a time. I look at INTJs traits on the personality page and found out most of the traits are not even close to the job I’m working on now. Some of the traits mention describe how I act and work. For example, I love difficult theoretical challenges such as coding, I’m creative, ingenious, innovative, and resourceful, I prefer to work alone such as I’m doing now, and I’m future-oriented (Tieger, 2015). These of some of the traits that if I would have followed in the beginning of my career choice I would have become “The Scientist” sooner in my life.
