Imran Khan Leadership Analysis

Superior Essays
It is sad that as a nation we have become so used to being led by people that lack these qualities that for us, dishonesty and corruption is acceptable, but a straightforward and sincere leader with much less serious mistakes is lambasted. Our leaders are a reflection of who we are. Time to choose our loyalties carefully.
What has made Imran Khan different from others is his résumé. For many, the man has a clean slate when it comes to his political and social stature, with the added bonus of a huge following from his cricketing days.
Nevertheless, people (and Imran) need to realise that there are many things about Imran Khan that make him appear as quite an inconsistent – if not erratic – politician, and some of his decisions may actually

He and his party members have sent resignations to the National Assembly speaker, but strangely, they refuse to resign from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) assembly. Why? Is it because remaining in power in one province gives them perks and privileges they would rather continue to enjoy?
9. And lastly, will his National Assembly members return the millions they took from the government during the past 16 months? I would be very surprised if they do
.As a nation we may cry for change but looking at our behaviour, we don’t really seem to actually want it. We are so deeply embedded in our comfort zone ruled by dynasties and corrupt politicians that when someone different comes along, we can’t wait to mock them on our Facebook statuses and pinpoint the first thing we see wrong in them.
Those topping the Imran Khan hate-list couldn’t stop typing their sarcasm last night about how he held a concert at his Lahore rally. Yeah. He did. Altaf does it. Shahbaz does it. Zardari may hope to one day do it but none of them have so far managed to get crowds singing with them. Imran Khan did – and not while he blared his version of Jalib or a parody of Parday may rehnay do… instead he managed to get onboard people who can actually help him create some kind of unity amongst the crowds – how can that go against

In the novel 1984, one of the most frightening aspects is “Newspeak,” the systematic destruction of language as a medium of truth. “Newspeak” is used to reconstruct the language so that any way of verbal opposition to the Party is impossible. By creating “Newspeak”, the government could remove or change the meanings of different words to assist the power of Big Brother and overall eliminate thoughtcrime. The people of Oceania are greatly controlled by “Newspeak” and the new language it has created.…

Throughout history, countless leaders have risen to power of a large area, but very few were able to hold on to their position, because they lost the favor of the people they represented. Above all, Khan ensured the protection and wellbeing of all people under his rule, and it was because of this that he was able to accomplish such unbelievable tasks. He respected his people, and they respected him. A leader without the support of his people is no leader, and no one understood that better than Genghis…

“A leader has to watch every word he or she says and quickly learns that you can’t go through life without a few critics, some well deserved” (pg. 5), this quote as some of the beginning words from MacDonald truly shows that a leader has responsibilities to uphold to. I found it interesting that he showed these responsibilities are not only external, but internal as well. Many do not realize the internal battles that leaders in ministry go through, and in order for leaders to handle a situation in a mature manner; they must uphold to the responsibilities of character they are expected to maintain. There are many internal and external expectations of leaders that are specified in Building Below the Waterline, but only some really stood out to me as factors that I would practice more than others in my leadership positions.…

Rick Shenkman seems to know seems to know just how to grab the readers’ attention in his book, Just How Stupid Are We? Facing the Truth About the American Voter. While most readers may disagree with his central arguments, I agree with him. I do believe that, as a whole society, the American people are very uninformed when it comes to politics, government, or any other relatively “uninteresting” topics. It seems as though the American people could actually care less about what is happening in our government and whether the people in power are taking advantage of our ignorance.…

Incivility is not a new topic in American politics, in fact, it has continued to get worse over the years. In “The Negative Consequences of Uncivil Political Discourse” Sandy Maisel states that the “lack of civility has led to the decline in citizen approval of trust in our institutions of government” (Maisel 405). Maisel discusses the impact of incivility and how it can sway the public opinion to doubt the way politics are being handled. He discussing about how uncivil outbursts are not what cause concern, it is the lack of action, since politicians use this as a strategy to obtain more supporters and votes (Maisel 405). Maisel believes those who pursue the common good do so in a civil manner because civility is necessary to have an effective…

In the world of politics and governments, there will always be corruption banging on the door. Political corruption has been ruining America for years. America could easily avoid corruption by electing the correct president and by throwing out the ones who are corrupt that are in office. The media needs to open up and inform the public about the scandals and sleazes that the politicians are involved in. The problem is that the media hides every little secret, especially for those who share their political views.…

WHAT IS ‘COMMON GROUND’ WHEN THE GROUND HAS SHIFTED? Recently, the College announced a news speaker’s series underpinned by the concept of “Common Ground” featuring in this instance, a Republican (Karl Rove) and Democratic (David Axelrod) strategist. The Hamilton News site and later the Spectator prominently advertised the initiative. President David Wippman stated that the “goal for Common Ground is for the speakers, one a Democrat, the other a Republican, to model the kind of respectful dialogue across political boundaries that should occur not just on college campuses, but in the broader society as well,...…

Elections are held when individuals vote to make the country into a better place. This is when you get a chance to speak up and do what is right for you and the others. An example of power of elections is when majority of Canadians joined forces and chose to remove Stephen Harper as our prime minister. Elections important because everyone’s voices are heard and we as Canadians work together to decide which leader is the best for the country. Throughout history our world has seen its fair share of bad and awful leaders. From ones who are unfit to rule, such as Louis XVI; to cruel dictators who use their power for evil, such as Kim Jong Il. Atrocious leaders let their arrogance get in the way of protecting their followers, they also use violence and fear to control others. Odysseus in The Odyssey by Homer is a perfect example of an arrogant ruler, while Jack in Lord of The Flies by William Golding is an example of a leader who uses violence and fear to control others. Odysseus and Jack may be very different, but there is no mistaking that each of these boys are examples of bad rulers.…

Human nature and politics are inseparable. Raw, overpowering, and mighty, human nature is the dynamic force that drives political discourse. While Sophocles’ Antigone and Thucydides’ On Justice, Power, and Human Nature appear to be simply two independent works of antiquity, both convey timeless teaching on human nature. These interconnected lessons are relevant in modern political leadership and serve as a guide for moderation, justice, and engagement.…
