Decision making is is the process of making choices by setting goals, gathering information, and assessing alternative occupations (umassd.edu 2016). The three types of decision making are impulsive, rational, and dependent decisions. Everybody has and will encounter situations that will require them to make one of these types of decisions Rational decisions are a multi-step process for making choices between alternatives (boundless.com 2016). To make rational decisions, it requires for a person to think about the pros and cons of each alternative choice, before they make it. The formal process in which is needed to make rational decisions which follows a sequential and organized path of activities. This includes: Formulating a goals, identifying …show more content…
I acted out on emotion and was terrified because I knew that this assignment would have a big impact on my overall average in the class. However, it was not my intention to plagiarize for I just forgot to cite my sources after I was done typing the essay. I remember that morning after my first class I took a nap and my alarm was set to wake me up 30 minutes before my next class was suppose to start. When I got up, I checked my syllabus to see what I was going to need for that class today and I noticed that I had a paper due. I started to panic and I started to type as quickly as I could. My mind was clouded with different emotions and with alternative ways to getting this paper done. I checked the time and I did not have much left, so I started copying and pasting information from a website. After I finished the essay, I immediately ran out of my dorm to my suitemates room so I could print out the paper; without citing where I got most of my information from. After I turned in my paper my professor emailed me and wanted to speak to me in private during her office hours. She proceeded to inform me of the penalties for me turning in a plagiarized paper and I humbly accepted the penalties and returned to my dorm to think about my mistake. I mentioned earlier in this essay that some people make the worst decisions based on impulsive decisions; I happened to be one of those
