There were also bombs made from similar means in backpacks which the duo left in the cafeteria. Both Eric and Dylan exited the school. All the explosives except one failed to detonate and it only partially did so. Explosives experts stated if they would have detonated as planned, the loss of life would have been massive. In addition major structural damage to the school would have occurred. Additionally it is highly probable all four hundred and eighty eight students in the cafeteria would have been killed.
