Now, if we want to find ways to improve our own education system here in America, we must look at other countries and see what they’re doing wrong or right, then compare that to how we do things. In the OCED, a test taken world wide by 15 year olds that mostly focuses on math, the united states scored 17th overall of the 34 countries that took the test. People in this country don’t all have the same opportunities that others do. Just because you were born to a family that lives in a trailer and can’t afford nice things doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to go out and get the same education as a kid whose parents are doctors and lawyers. There is such a gap between schools in areas of high income and areas of low income, that depending on where you are born, that pretty much decides the education you will receive for the rest of your life. But that’s not how it should work. We should all be able to have any of the tools at our disposal we need, so we can all strive for greatness, and be the next generation of leaders and pioneers for this
