I am greatly honored to be one of the selected students who are being considered for the Spring induction of National Honor Society. As a current eleventh grade student, I believe that I have exceeded in demonstrating all four qualities of the National Honor Society. With my previous experience in the National Junior Honor Society, I have bestowed the ideals to my community as of the beginning of my middle school career. This has led me to take pride in the community around me and help create a greater society with the foundation that the National Junior Honor Society has introduced to me. The quality of Service is an ideal that I can directly relate to through personal experience, therefore creating significance in my life.…

I really love working serving kids, and I am really passionate about it. In India, I went to this home for orphaned kids. I helped raise some money with a group, and we donated it to the kids for their education. I also took part in this volunteer group project, which lasted about a week. We would go to the nearby lake, which was extremely polluted, and pick up the trash.…

Helping the wonderful community of Salinas is a great impact on nature. What I did to help my community is take care of little kids at the Salvation Army for my hours. It’s a big responsibility to do because parents leave their kids in someone’s hands that they never met before. Even though it’s a hard thing to do because they’re small kids and take things differently, It’s also a great thing to do because some kids look up to you and rely on you. In general, Salvation Army is a great program because they donate clothes to those in need and feed them.…

Out of all the people I met, there used to be only one person who did not change his or her opinion about me once they learned what type of community I self-identify to be a part of. If his or her opinions had an encouraging effect on me, then I usually stay in contact with those people. The people you are with can affect what atmosphere you live in whether it is a calm, friendly air or a dreadful, tense air. However, in contrast, those who had a harmful effect on me they are most likely the ones who mock me in the past. In fact, I will be honest the word itself does have a negative stigma around it.…

This is a wonderful foundation and there are several reasons I selected this specific charity. One reason is they give opportunities to children whom, in some cases, have lost hope due to their condition and gives inspiration to keep looking towards the future. This is something I wish to accomplish this year.…
