Based on information found in other developed countries, the United States lack funding in education. This creates a disparity in educating every student because teacher don’t have the resources or knowledge on how to provide the best education they can. Students are also at risk for having a low socioeconomic status.
• Smaller class sizes, longer school year o With education system having limited funding it is hard to make class sizes smaller. Other countries that have better test scores have larger class sizes in the US. If we have smaller class sizes we would need to hire more teacher and built facilities with more class rooms that can be very expensive. An alternative plan is to extend the school year to be longer. The kids that are affected the most by the summer months is those who are in poor families. Many countries we looked at have school year round which is very beneficial. Kids who are from poor families do not have access to meals during the summer, and aren’t able to engage in actives to enrich their education.

We need to make sure teachers are getting the training they need by investing in teachers. This creates the domino effect by investing in teachers we are investing in the future of our nation and can better it as a whole. In America we invest more money in doctors and lawyers than the teacher that can educate us to become whatever we want to be. We also need to invest to improve our qualities of school district leaders so they are able to lead by example. It is important that districts see the teachers that are succeeding so they help grow and develop
