1.2 Significance of the Study
A research is done for a number of reasons in which to gain new knowledge and a better understanding of the subject is one. In this society where gender roles and stereotypes exist, a male OB-GYN is on a disadvantage. The result of this phenomenological study will be of great help for aspiring male OB-GYNs, male OB-GYNs and their possible patients.
Fears and hesitations for aspiring male OB-GYNs might be eradicated in this research.
The research would assert the credibility of male OB-GYNs. It might show the different perspectives and views of male OB-GYN about womanhood and his profession, thus justifying their integrity in accordance to their field of work.
Gender stereotypes in the said field might cease to exist in the society, specifically the perception of female patients toward male OB-GYN. It might pave the way for the consideration of having a male OB-GYN.

Instruments and Techniques
The researchers are the main instruments in this study. They would be working on the construction of the data gathering materials as well as the collection of information and further analysis on the data. The information was obtained from the key participants who are licensed male OB-GYN. The material which was used in material used in gathering information was an in-depth interview guided by a questionnaire structured to yield information useful for the study.
2.2. Sampling Procedure
The researchers used the purposive sampling technique in this study. The purposive sampling was used because it was the most appropriate sampling technique. The respondents were purposively selected as they were all doctors whose specialization lies in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Furthermore, the key respondents were chosen as all of whom are male, in biological sex.
