Important Qualities To Be A Successful Nurse Essay

There are many qualities that are required to become a successful nurse. Some of those include compassion, reliability, responsibility, tenderness, intelligence, and patience. A person must have these key features, among others, in order to be considered worthy of having a nursing career. I would like to think that I hold the greater amount of these important qualities. I have compassion for everyone, especially those who are in need. People that know me well will tell whoever asks that I am always willing to give someone the shirt off my back. I have been quite famous for rescuing animals. I get at least one message a month asking if I will take in someone’s animal. I’ve attempted to save a number of dogs off the streets. That term can be broken up into two sections, those being common sense and book smarts. Book smarts means having the brain capacity to take in a lot of information, store it, and use it as everyday knowledge. There is a lot of information that potential nurses have to remember, or else it can cost a life, a license, a career, or someone’s health. This is where common sense comes in. Common sense is the ability to retain important information and be able to use it in the most effective way, as well as knowing what you’re doing. The concept of common sense is rare these days. However, it is a crucial skill in the health care field. A medical professional must know when it is appropriate to take certain action and when it is not. It takes a perfect combination of common sense and book smarts to create the ideal nurse. I don’t claim to be the smartest, but I can learn a lot and learn it fast. I believe that I was born with the common sense that most people lack in this day and age. I would like to believe that I have just the right mixture of both forms of intelligence to become a successful health care
