A very important factor for the spread of religion and the Empire was Mecca. The Islamic Empire was the start of the religion Islam. Mecca was important for the religion because before Islam it was a location for shrines, during the time of Islam it was the location of The Kaaba, and Muhammad the founder and the prophet of Islam was raised in Mecca. Mecca was also important for non religious reasons. It was a very important site for trade. During the time of the Islamic Empire, There were many Islamic achievement accomplished. The three most important achievements of the Islamic Empire are math and astronomy, medicine and surgery, and literature. They are important because they still affect us today.
