Importance Of Writing Experience

All through my years of schooling, I’ve had just about one paper that was about one page long, due every year. Therefore, I did not have to do much writing. Surely not enough to remember any of it. Writing has never been a thing I enjoyed doing, so I never bothered to remember any of writing experiences. The only writing experience I remember is having to write this paper about a writing experience. All weekend long, I sat there thinking about what to write about, and nothing came to mind. Then, one thing came to mind, but it was so vague I couldn’t write two and a half pages about it. After sitting there for a little longer I thought, how about I write about how hard it was for me to write this essay, so here it goes.
As a student, I have always struggled in school and struggled to pay attention. I never had the motivation to go to school. When I was at school, I never listened to what the

I thought I was going to end up taking a zero for the assignment. It made me panic at the thought of writing this. I spend the rest of that day thinking about what to write about. At the end of the day, I had thought of absolutely nothing. No writing experience I could think of. I figured something would come to me on Friday. I went to work with the mindset of coming up with a topic to write about. Came lunch time with nothing, then dinner still with nothing. At the end of the day I, once again, had nothing to write about. I was hoping something would come to me over the weekend. I was thinking of things I had to write in high school, but everything that came to me, I could only think of a page to write. I tried thinking about things I had to write in middle school, but I could not remember a single thing. There goes Saturday with coming up with something. I went to Ohiopyle on Sunday, yes I had fun, and in the car I was thinking some more. Now it is Monday and this is all I could come up

I walked into the classroom of my last class of the day expecting to just take notes and listen to a lecture. Unfortunately for me, the teacher announced that we were going to write a timed essay based on a chapter of a book we were reading. This task did not seem challenging at first, and the thirty minutes we were given to write our essays seemed like plenty of time. Nonetheless, I still managed to turn what was supposed to…

Throughout my educational career standardized testing has been a major part in determining whether or not you can proceed to the next grade or whether you have to take the class again. A Lot of kids that were my age when I had to take the STAAR test usually dreaded having to take a standardized test like the STAAR English II exam. I was no different, I was one of those kids who just wanted to get this test done with and move one. For a while this philosophy of mine worked, however that all would change when I ended up failing the English II STAAR test during my sophomore year of high school. Thus leading to a change in how I would view standardized testing and how my writing composition skills would eventually improve and affect my life.…

My English professor made me write a minimum of five pages for an essay and I never wrote over three pages since high school. This course was a challenge for me, but it also taught me the value to writing. The more papers I wrote in college made my views change on writing. Writing became a secondary voice for me, it wasn’t difficult for me to write about what I knew or either what was near and dear to my heart. Although I respect writing, it is still something that I still struggle with till this day.…

Surviving English Comp 1 Writing Class Writing is one thing I hate the most. It was hard to write an essay for the first time because I did not have the knowledge or concept of this writing style. Before this class, I thought I knew what writing was all about by expressing my thoughts, ideas and feeling. I know now that I had the wrong concept on how to write. I can express my thoughts, ideas and feeling, but if I put them in the wrong contents it does not lead the reader to the point of the essay.…

All people have life experiences which influence their understanding of reading and writing. Some of them turn out to have a great impact on the world such as Sigmund Freud- who published a multitude of books developing our understanding of psychology, or Shakespeare- who has widely shaped drama writing and even the English language. I too have a considerable amount of experiences that shaped my writing, not enough to change the world, but enough to where I could share with you the ones that influenced me the most. My first experience was in my childhood.…

Notably, as a teenager I wrote a horrible academic essay in an easy English class in the 10th grade, and received a D. By way of contrast, as an adult I wrote an excellent research essay in an English class as a freshman in college, and received an A. Though, I made horrible mistakes on my personal essay as a teenager, I believe my writing has improved tremendously due to a research essay I wrote. For one thing, as a teenager in the 10th grade I wrote a horrible essay that received a non-passing grade, but now as an adult in college I proved I could write an excellent academic paper because I received an A on an essay that I wrote my freshman year of college. As a matter of fact, my teenage years were full of many horrible writing memories that I will never forget. Specifically, my worst writing memory as a teenager was when I did horrible in my 10th grade writing class. More importantly, this was when I wrote an essay based off my personal opinion, and received a D for my own personal opinion.…
