I am hoping to get in the Occupational Therapist Assistant program, but to do that I have to take English as you know. Seeing that I had to take English I knew I was going to have to write essays and with that is thesis. I have never been able to write a good thesis, and I find it really difficult to write a thesis. I know what I have to have to write a correct thesis, but when I try to write one it seems like I have no idea what I am doing. Although I have a hard time writing a thesis there are ways to help out to make sure to understand and get it right. I dread when I get to the part of my introduction that the thesis is needed. I was scared to ask anyone because I felt like I was the only with writing a thesis, but I could not handle my essays not being good enough just because of my thesis was not right. I felt like I would get judged because I could not do something that may come easy to others. There are ways to fix my thesis problem. Like Dweck says, “add “yet” to all of your “I can’t” statements.” I say that I cannot write a good thesis, but if I put I am yet to write a good thesis then I have made my fixed mindset disappear because I am willing to work on my thesis. When I finally asked for some help on my thesis. I realized that I can get better at writing thesis. Like Dweck says, “Study people who are good at the thing you need to do to how they got good and what failures the had along the way.” Seeing that other people struggle with the thesis just like I do made me realized I should have asked a long time ago. Also by the people showing me how to not get stuck when it comes the

However, my father and my close peers were able to assist me in my process of writing my final draft and with their corrections, I was able to implement them into my paper which served as a massive aid when writing this analysis. When my peers and my father were helping me in my analysis, they noticed that throughout my rough draft, I was using too many words, I wasn’t exploring much bigger vocabulary, and my sentence structure and complex sentences needed more work and when I was looking over the essay, I could immediately see what they were talking about. So, I started to work on exactly what they said. And soon enough, I was done with my analysis because, I had already done my thesis, my ideas were all laid out and put together perfectly, and it had all made sense in the end.…

A thesis statement introduces the main idea of an essay. The thesis statement is typically located in the last sentence of the introductory paragraph. The thesis statement usually serves as the focus of your essay and should be developed, supported, and explained. Beyond the introduction of the main idea, the thesis statement tells the reader what to expect from the rest of the essay, foreshadows how “I” will depict the subject of discussion, and makes an arguable statement for the reader to interpret for themselves. To be a strong thesis statement, the thesis statement must follow four components: the thesis statement must be narrow and manageable, present your argument, foreshadow your essay, and present an arguable statement.…

When you walk in the first day of your junior English class, to a woman under 5 feet tall standing on a desk staring at you, you know that there are only two options; either this class is going to be fantastic or a complete disaster. I had heard from students that she had previously, that you could never please her. But, I was going to give her the benefit of the doubt, see what I could do and what was possible based on my experience. The bell rang and signalled for the class to begin. I took a deep breath, as the teacher began to speak, still standing on the top of the desk.…
