Reflective Essay On Production Experience

This semester I worked in the Scene Shop for Production Experience 1 for both Vinegar Tom and Dead Man’s Cell Phone. Because I came on later than the rest of my peers, I caught the tail-end of work for Dead Man’s Cell Phone. I also participated in light hang and strike for Vinegar Tom as part of my Production Experience this semester. In terms of scene shop, it was new for me because I had never spent such a concentrated amount of time in that aspect of production or worked on projects on such a timescale. The only other experience I had with scene shop was what I had learned in the half credit Introduction to Stagecraft course I took at Vassar College, which involved learning how to work with wood and how to design props. Working in Northeastern’s scene shop was interesting because you are not designing the props on your own. You are the team responsible for constructing and bringing to life the ideas of the designers. For Vinegar Tom, I was able to take artistic freedom in making the trees in order to fit the aesthetic of the production. In light hang, I did not do any focusing. Almost all of it was hanging, which was fun. During Strike for Vinegar Tom, I got the chance to destroy and break down the set, which was amazing and really helped me gain a better understanding of how …show more content…
However, I am definitely looking forward to learning more in Technical Theatre 1 next semester. I would not say production work is my destiny, but it still could be. I definitely found the scene shop interesting but I think there are other aspects of production work that I might like more. For example, I spent all of last year working with lights at Vassar, and I found myself missing working with lighting. I cannot wait to continue to explore production and design work in the future here at

It is with great pleasure that I submit an application for the Marketing Growth Analyst position offered by Ampush. I learned about Ampush from personal research and became interested in your company’s unique approach to marketing strategy and campaigns. When I first learned of Ampush, I was immediately taken by your mission to cater an individual advertising experience for each one of your company partners rather than trying to find a one-size-fits-all strategy for every single project. Ampush’s focus on instead developing strategies that target the individual needs of each project resonates strongly with my experiences in the arts at Williams. With each theatrical production I worked on, I was encouraged to analyze and understand the show…

It make me think of different ways I can go about the printmaking once we go over in class. Two different piece works that really caught my eye was “Crest Fall” by Jamey Hart. this is a Acrylic, fabric, string type work. The figure just seems to pop out with the materials coming together to make a incredible work of art. At “The Morgan Conservatory for Papermaking” My favorite aspect we went over is how they turned the old warehouse to another amazing gallery.…

In Addition, my junior year here in Godinez has been a memorable year that I will contemplate later on in my life as I will look back in this year personally when my development in character has progressed, some of my academic achievements that I’ve had throughout this year, and the fact that I had stepped out of my comfort zone. From maintaining a stable academic status to being more involved in school, but the one experience that stood out the most in my junior year was when I had joined Tech crew. From the moment I had picked up the paper from the vice president of Tech crew during club rush, which was Jesus Martinez, I had this urge of momentum and excitement about being involved more in Godinez and being a part of Tech crew was the perfect way to demonstrate that.…

Although technical theatre is not my cup of tea, I did enjoy learning about some of the things. That is why I am choosing to talk about my two favorite things we discussed this semester: scenic painting and drafting. The first, scenic painting is the one I had the most experience with coming into. To find employment opportunities dealing with scenic painting I went to google and typed in “jobs that require scenic painting.” Surprisingly, I found more than I would have thought.…

Management 101, consisted of many stimulating and informative topics. However, learning the contrast of the X and Y management theories was exceedingly practical and most enjoyable in comparison to all the other topics discussed. This class thoroughly taught me the different perspectives and benefits of each theory and that they are undoubtedly are essential in building a strong and effective foundation in management. It will not only be a challenge, but an enjoyable task taking on the personal challenge of merging the benefits of both theories. For example, not only rewarding good performances, but also motivating employees to work on their own and empowering them to make independent decisions that they can be proud to be a part of.…

When applying this lesson, I saw most these aspects reflected, especially the motivation of the class. When students were asked to begin creating their own small businesses it was evident that students wanted to complete the activity at a good level. This level of student engagement was crucial to the success of the class as it is often a great indicator of a successful lesson (Carini, Kuh, & Klein, 2006 p. Abstract). Additionally, other features that lead to a successful class was my use of classroom proximity. Early on my placement I realised the key of using classroom proximity for classroom management, in this particular lesson it lead to better behaviour and engagement from the students.…

Throughout life, we learn different lessons be it from a teacher such as your parents, guardians, spouse, etc. or just going out and living and collecting experiences. From these, we grow and become the person we are today. We learn to shape us into the person we are and motivate the things we do and believe. I believe heavily in three core things I’ve learned in my life through experience. These core principles are Trust is something earned, sometimes you must think outside the box, and don’t let the bad moments outshine the good.…
