Personal Narrative: My Experience At Microtime

Improved Essays
Working as an intern at Microtime was interesting. I experienced a lot there, some good things and some bad. I went there Mondays and Fridays from 9am to 5pm usually. A majority of my time was spent sitting around, cleaning, or catching up on my homework. I didn’t mind having little to do since I know that there are other intern and the technicians didn’t have time to teach. Everyone at Mircotime was nice, but also unprofessional. I don’t think it’s ok for coworkers to be fighting in front of customers or other employees. Not to mention the jokes that where directed at me since I was the only female in the workshop, but I ignored them.

Much of my responsibility at Microtime was dealing with selling things on eBay. I did this when I was bored or didn’t have anything to do, but everything I listed sold except the server which is older and doesn’t work. I’d have to take pictures, list the item, package, and take them to the post office. My worst day at Microtime was when a coworker asked me to deliver some ram to one of their clients in Lowell, Ma. I wasn’t really in a position to say no since I didn’t have anything else to do. So drove down there in my car, just to drive back to get the correct ram, and then drive all the way back down to deliver it to a client. After two hours of driving I finally get back and not one person said thank you, and I didn’t get reimbursed for the gas I used to get down …show more content…
I’ll get a raise after my 90-day review, and another after my 6-month review. Currently I am a customer support specialist and assist the technicians with service tickets, scheduling, talking to customers, and follow up calls to make sure everything is still working correctly. Working at Paradigm is more than just a job to me, it’s a career and the CEO and other coworkers want me to grow and succeed within the company. Everyone is friendly and more than willing to help me with small tasks, teaching me a new program, or just asking if I’m doing ok. At Paradigm I mostly answer the phones, talk to clients, create service tickets, and do other things around the office to help

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

During the hike I thought a lot about my summer reading, but sadly it didn't help me face the monster... During July of 2015 I was reading Into Thin Air while driving down south. While there, my family went on a hike that was on a smaller scale of Everest, but still gave me many lessons to take away from it. It was a short but scenic drive from the place we were staying to the long, treacherous trail. My brother and I started walking at a faster pace than our parents so we arrived at the first obstacle before our parents.…

Every night I get in bed completely wore out from a hard days work, then I wake up to do it all again in the morning. This job is not for everyone, however it is for me.…

With the first month of the New Year slowly fading, the time is passing with a swiftness that is both anticipated and undesired. The past year’s triumphs and blessings were received with gratitude, but oftentimes shaded with drab shadows that hang over my existence. At times, I wallowed in its sweet anguish like a pig left to wallow in its own feces, and sunk further into self-examination. Too often, I passed the weeks under a dark cloud, wondering if or when the golden light of the sun might make its way back onto the landscape. I do not pretend to be rid of the darkness; I am not able.…

It couldn’t have been past 10 a.m. when the alarm went off. We all knew what it meant- we were firefighters, it’s what we do. The fire chief told us that an apartment complex in downtown Boston had gone ablaze, and that it was really bad. We quickly got into our uniforms and hopped on as the fire truck left the station. We were a few miles away before I saw the smoke, a dark giant against the bright blue sky.…
