They are about to have meal after the job but so sleepy that they do not care at all about the food. This scene is played with eye-level shot.
Eye-level shot is another technique of camera angle. The camera is placed at the subject’s height. The characters do not need to look up or down if the film employs the eye-level angle. Yoon and Peng have known each other already, and Yoon admires Peng. While they are talking, Peng introduces Jerd, who is also a hard-working freelance worker exactly like Yoon. Here, the filmmaker uses panning shot.
Panning shot uses a camera scanning a scene in one smooth horizontal movement from one side to the other. Sometimes, it pans from one person to one another. This technique creates bonding and connectedness among the subjects in the frame. In the film, during the conversation, the camera pans from Yoon’s side to Jerd and Peng’s side. As for the meaning which is created by this panning shot, it tries to convey similarity of Yoon and Jerd. According to Peng’s description of Jerd, he says that Jerd is similar to Yoon. The use of panning shot plays the role emphasising what Peng is saying. So, it means that Yoon and Jerd are connected since they have something in common.
One narrative feature that gains advantage of panning shot in this scene is foreshadowing. It foreshadows that Jerd will cause some effects to Yoon in his career. Shortly afterwards, the foreshadowing comes true. Arrival of Jerd simply upsets Yoon. Initially, Je asks Jerd to edit a piece of work which is not complete because Yoon, who does this job, has left one mistake on it.
