Very few restaurants offer vegetarian meals and they can be hard to find. Either way, this diet will become very expensive. This kind of lifestyle also can’t work in all parts of the world without added cost (Nandi). Raising beef is also necessary to achieve the most efficient way to produce food due to land availability. Eighty-five percent of all US grazing land is impossible to grow crops on (Vegetarian). If everyone eats grown crops then this land will go to waste and further the world hunger crisis. Even though vegetarians argue that they are reducing their environmental footprint, there are several reasons why this is not true. Over the last twenty years, topsoil reduction has increased thirteen times due to cash crop agriculture. Also, an increased production of soybeans, which is a protein staple among vegetarians, are known to be genetically immune to herbicides (Vegetarian). Vegetarianism and veganism are wrong because meat is necessary for a human’s diet, it is costly and unethical to distribute vegetarian meals, and animals are on the earth for the benefit of humans and it is more than okay to eat them. Although vegetarian diets seem to be an enlightened idea to help the planet and ease suffering worldwide, this just isn’t true. The side effects of this decision outway and counteract the very issues that they try to solve as well as cause a multitude of other problems. A well known medical journal, WebMD, proves that purely vegetarian diets are harmful to all human bodies. As seen in the visual from Rightposters, humans were given dominion over the animals so that they could benefit mankind. The geniuses at Khan Academy can easily prove that animals were made to be eaten purely with science. That’s just how nature works. Nandi Argues that vegetarian diets are personally uneconomical, and ProCon argues that vegetarian diets actually can be harmful to the environment they are trying to protect. The people who choose to eat this way need to realize the actual effect that their decision is making around the world.
