One of the most important reasons why citizens should have the right to health care is because it saves lives. For those people who do not have health insurance coverage, anytime they make a visit to the doctor or try to receive any medical help it results in piles of medical bills. “On Dec. 10, 1948 the United States and 47 other nations signed the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.” United States signed on this document to give citizens the right to receive some type of medical attention in order to have a healthy life. Because they signed this document, it is an agreement that when one person is in need of medical attention, the United States should follow through with this. This means that people should be able to have access to universal health care. They should have the guarantee that when they need help, they should be able to receive it and not be refused care just because of financial issues or other discriminatory
