Importance Of Top Learnings From 2016

What are the top learnings from your 2016?

What will you remember to bring into 2017?

I asked myself the same questions. What things made 2016 remarkable and unforgettable? What happened this year that helped to make me who I am? What ah-ha moments shed the outgrown skins and heralded new beginnings? What contributed to me being the best version of myself that will carry me into 2017?

Without exception, each and every person experiences growth and change, joy and sadness, abundance and suffering, love and fear. I coach people to be intentional and distinguish the positive from the hurt and the meaningful from the unmeaningful, or else we forfeit our influence over what we attract into our lives.

#1 In February my father, Mike Schreibman, passed away and is finally at peace, may his memory be for a blessing. Dad battled Parkinson 's Disease for years, ever since before I was in college. The level of contribution required to show Dad love during the last years of his life made me a better son, father and person. I wish he could have known how impactful he truly was. I miss you Dad.

Show gratitude for your blessings and good fortune. Those less fortunate often go unheard or suffer in silence.

#2 My beautiful wife Renee turned 35! Check this out- in a total ploy I engaged the throngs of adoring Renee fans to show love on her birthday by sending her FLOWERS through the mail. A complete set up, I filmed her reactions throughout the days leading up, updated the secret Facebook group, and played the unsuspecting cheerleader role. What resulted was a beautiful depiction of gratitude, love and appreciation from so many, and is now cemented into four minutes of cherished memories in a YouTube video. Enjoy this feel good moment! We will remember the experience, and Renee, for

Perhaps I will refresh my memory of our company 's mission which inspires me to contribute greater than what is asked. I may join a dialogue meant to develop our services and challenge what we believed was unimaginable. And I will certainly find fulfillment by partnering to resolve pesky conflicts thwarting the care we deliver to millions of patients, family, and community members. 2016 was filled with great events and experiences as seen through the lens of an extraordinary company that invests an extraordinary amount in me.

Never devalue an opportunity to contribute to the betterment of another person, and be especially grateful if your contribution happens to be your occupation.

#9 A presidential election for the ages where the politics of the election were secondary. Suffice it to say our country experienced an identity crisis this election. Moreso than ever before, aligning with a political candidate reflected a cultural stigma, a set of values and beliefs, and a clash of fear and uncertainty. My learning? How great is the need for clarity and vision in the lives of Americans. I can tell you who I am, what I believe, and what attracts the greatest fulfillment in my life; it 's time for me to be a role model for how other people can create that same clarity

In this article, Chris Widener tells the audience 10 things he wish he knew before he went out in the real world. These lessons aren’t the type that are taught by teachers, but they are lessons people come to realize just through living life and growing up. For a lot of people, these negative aspects are sheltered by their parents throughout childhood or they are something a child cannot experience just simply because they are too young. At the end, Widener lets the audience know that although there are certainly negative parts of just living life, but life can still be wonderful depending on whether or not you choose to look at life with a positive attitude. While reading this article, I could definitely agree and connect to some of the…

However, even within this tame political arena, Democrats still identified strongly with their candidates and rooted intensely for them, and vice versa for Republicans. Although past electorates were undoubtedly just as zealously partisinal as contemporary voters, the political polarization seen today is unlike the partisanship of the past. Transitioning from an age of high politics, American Congressmen, in recent years, have no longer been unified by the external threat of the Soviet Union (or any serious international threat for that matter); instead of debating foreign policy, domestic issues have filled the gap. Now free to debate every manner of domestic issue, party lines have become more concrete, leading to an excavation of the center of the bell curve and a decline in ‘across the aisle’ mingling. In contrast to prior decades, it was enthusiastic partisanship for their candidate (and by extension, their party) rather than having fundamentally incompatible beliefs that fueled their pious…

The most recent Presidential election has consumed the national consciousness. With each passing debate, speech, headline, and commercial, we have been flooded with negative messages that are highlighting all that is wrong with our current and perspective political leaders. We seem to have leaders who are devoid of the character necessary to handle the great challenges that face our nation and our world. It would be easy to sit in a state of despair about the future of our country. I, however, find solitude in knowing that we are raising a new generation of young adults in our schools, such as Nathan Lefeld, who can strive of excellence academically, persevere through adversity, find joy in service to others, and work extremely hard to earn…

President Obama’s 2008 Inauguration Speech The inauguration speech by President Barrack Obama was just as memorable as the fact that he was the first past of African-American heritage to hold the position of commander in chief of the US. The president’s use of rhetoric as well as his eloquence and background both ethnically and socially created a rich mix that further cemented the legendary status in the speech he made that night in 2008. In the second presidential debate, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump quarrel over who is modeling the most appropriate and positive behavior for today’s youth. Hillary believes that she is most suitable representative for America because she believes in diversity and unification, which is what will make America a strong country. Clinton effectively establishes her credibility as a presidential candidate by appealing to the emotions of the voters through the use of repetition, process analysis, and emphasizing on Trump’s flaws to prove she is the most credible candidate. Sited in the text of this debate, Hillary Clinton uses a credible tactic, through the use of process analysis, to show that she has an exceptional plan for the United States if she is elected president. In her first argument she says, “-and I’ve set forth some big goals, getting the economy to work for everyone, not just those at the top, making sure that we have the best education system from preschool through college and making it affordable, and so much…

My fellow citizens: With every inauguration this country we corroborate the fortitude of the seedling of our country; the nearly two centuries old constitution. All standing before me, we are American not considering we were born upon American soil, but rather on the ground that we choose to hold faith in an archive written lifetimes ago by the brilliant men before us. Although; these words may be documented, they alone are worthless. Provided, It is our job in a government run by the people, for the people, of the people to execute these duties. Since 1978 every American President who has given this address had a common goal of economic prosperity; in conclusion, the time has come where we authenticate this persistent wish, of economic prosperity.…

I had the confidence to finally get out of my comfort zone and started doing what regular kids do, which seemed impossible the year before. For such a young person, I sure did realize how mature I was. I learned the habit of not complaining about what is wrong and instead getting up to actually fix it. Having experienced this, I learned that my passion was in making a difference in other people's’ lives. I know I am driven to spend the rest of my life doing it.…

Leading America: Trump vs. Sanders Two years ago the mainstream media introduced the world to a billionaire businessman, and a career politician, with vastly different leadership styles that both declared to run for America’s top role as the next U.S. President. Though these men had somewhat different campaign messages and different ideas of how they would carry them out, both had novelty approaches that had never been seen before in U.S. Politics. President, Donald Trump, and the U.S. Senator of Vermont, Bernie Sanders, both had fiery messages that spoke on the insecurities of the American people and where the future of this nation is heading in extremely different ways (Keith, 2016). With that said, I will attempt to compare and contrast…

November 8, 2016 will be a day that will mark a transition in America’s political history, since the country will be voting for it’s 45th president. The two candidates who have a chance to win the presidency are Hillary Clinton who represents the Democratic Party and Donald Trump, who represents the Republican Party. At this point, the country is choosing between two candidates that do not have the trust and the characteristics to be the leader of the nation. According to journalists and the critics, they are very few Americans that truly support one of the candidates, for them it is more of a situation where they have to choose the ‘best’ among the ‘worst’. The United States of America have also been going through rough years since crime rates and unemployment rates have been increasing in the past years.…

Seeing reports on the news every day, I see that a major theme is a deep rooted pessimism about the future state of America. No matter where you end up on the political spectrum, I can see where people in our country would feel this way. Even though the divisions in our country seem overwhelmingly insurmountable, and sometimes feeling like a “United” States isn't even possible; America’s best days are still in front of us. People see the future of America as one filled with health advances, potent militarism, technology and military tactics, however the future is filled with so much more.…

Before I even decided to place my bid for Presidency; I thought long and hard about how it would affect me personally, mentally and physically. I thought it was necessary to make the decision that is right for not only me but for the country as well. It was tough to decide if I was the right candidate for the Presidency, I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to run for candidacy after I lost so badly in two-thousand-eight to President Obama.
