Do you know your first Amendment rights? The first Amendment is the most important in the build of rights since it give us our basic freedom. The first Amendment describes the principal rights of the citizens of the united states. The right to assemble is when people come together and collectively express, promote, and defend their ideas. “Or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” What this mean is that the government can't stop you from protesting in something you believe should be happening. For example black lives matter. This right really gives you freedom that you never would think about. Freedom to assemble applies to all groups, even if people don't like those groups. Citizens also have the right to complain to the government about things that they don't like. These petitions are used to place initiatives on a ballot and the people can vote about whether to change the law.
