My family also supported and encouraged me to do some things that I typically did not do but wanted to. No matter what activity was, my family helped me get whatever I needed and also supported me by showing up at various performances and events. Though this act may seem minuscule, it meant a lot to know that I had people who were proud of me and would always love me no matter if I succeeded or failed. Altogether, I know that without the support of my friends and family, I would not be the person that I am…

This became a tradition when I moved away from where they live because that's when our other traditions ended like on wednesdays we used to meet somewhere and eat dinner but we can’t do that any more so we thought that Thanksgiving break is a good time to go see them because we have off school and they can get off work. There must to be a moment in time where we step back from our hectic lives of constant activity to be truly thankful for what we have in life. We as people often look over things that should be taken into consideration and not for granted. Things as simple as having a house to live in, having running water, and money to put food on the table are all things we take for granted at times. Even family can be taken granted for, since we as individuals can grow accustomed to their constant acts of kindness towards us. Thanksgiving is not only a time to be thankful, but a reminder that we must count our blessings everyday to prevent the fretting when things don’t happen in our lives the way we want it to go.…

Thanksgiving is one of my most treasured holidays. While there are some constants in the way thanksgiving is observed by Americans, it can mean different things to different people. In my family, Thanksgiving is a day to gather with those we love, to join together in a huge feast, give thanks for all that we have been blessed with throughout the year, watch football, and listen to the men talk about the big buck that got away during their morning hunt. My mother makes the turkey, the potatoes and her famous homemade stuffing.…
