Happy Thanksgiving from the PCE Team! It is hard to believe we are this far into harvest and only a few weeks away from a really good meal with friends and family! It is also, most of all, taking an added account of all we are thankful for. Our cooperative would not be great without the very patrons we serve. We have many multigenerational and longstanding relationships with many families from our farmer growers, residential propane users, feed store patrons.…

My project goal is to ensure every student has a meal to celebrate with for a Thanksgiving dinner this year. I have been in contact with local shelters and supermarkets in my town. Through contact with them, I will be able to provide each family with a holiday meal: a ham, vegetables (including green beans and potatoes), macaroni and cheese, rolls, and other canned goods. The outpour of support to help me achieve my goal has been amazing. I plan to continue this project every year and make it a tradition at Coosa High School.…

When I was in preschool, I had the opportunity to be a part of WACO shopping. Woodfield Area Children’s Organization (WACO) is a volunteer-nonprofit organization and each year around Christmas time, they travel to local Walmarts and host shopping events for preschoolers in low-income areas and provide each child with eighty dollars to spend. Two teenagers were assigned to push me around in the shopping cart while looking for the objects my family filled out in the Christmas list.
