The problem is not that they are copying, it is rather whom or what they are copying. It is almost impossible for children to learn without imitation in my own opinion and this makes it very key who and what your teenager is surrounded by. A Little statistics I read said that most children who commit suicide with guns do this making use of their parents or guardians gun, the question I asked myself was why their parents have guns and why they are within the reach of the children. Another statistics on smoking was by NHI in a survey carried out in America, said only 2% of the population that took the survey smoke by personal choice, while the remaining 98% of the survey takers said they smoked because people around them smoked at some point, we can see how strong the power of influence …show more content…
1) I once learnt patience last year just by waiting an extra 11 seconds for the elevator at a bank. 2) I learnt that it is harder to climb up but easier to come down, while climbing the stairs of a 14 story building (Unfortunately for me there wasn’t electricity to power the elevator). 3) I learnt that it’s easier to fall when you are at the breaking point of success than when you are just starting out, I learnt this while climbing another stairs (lol!! I know I seem like I have a thing for stairs but I just usually take my climbing time to

As a result of the high number of crimes being committed by juveniles, with the weapon of choice being guns, in 1995, COPS took action to help selected police departments in the United States with the fight against these crimes; The Youth Firearms Violence Initiative. Grades not Glocks When you hear names like Virginia Tech, Oregon, Columbine, and Sandy Hook they may bring back sad memories and deep feelings of sorrow, but those terrible incidents should not try to be avoided in future instances by giving anyone the possibility to carry a deadly firearm. As a college student concerned about the recent campus carry law that was passed in Texas, 2015, that allows anyone who is old enough for a concealed weapon permit to carry a firearm with them while on university grounds, I find is necessary to express my concern. The thought of allowing guns to be accessible to the majority of faculty and students in a learning environment brings a lot of red flags to mind, and raises my distress that there should be…

There are some potential danger that can happen in school if teachers are allowed to be armed with guns. First, teachers are not totally mindful; if they carry a gun to class, put it into a drawer in the class, and go to the restroom or somewhere else during the break time, but they forget to carry it with them. Then, students may be curious about the gun in the drawer; they could play with it and not be aware of the bad consequence of guns, and accidently shoot their friends. Specifically, on August 25th, 2016, Beth Jean Dixon, who is a teacher at Cumberland Christian School in Chambersburg, forgot "her holstered pistol on a toilet tank" in the school restroom (Staff). Then, "four students, ages 6 to 8, used the bathroom while the gun was…

A widespread opinion in the United States, and presumably elsewhere in the western world today, it that teenagers are irresponsible and emotional, not to mention ungrateful. While these traits may not necessarily be the fault of the teenagers themselves, rather the society and the ways in which they were raised in, this opinion is still present. Along with this opinion is the assumption that they cannot be trusted with large cumbersome responsibilities. While it is true that teenagers can be emotional due to fluctuating hormones and at times irresponsible, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they cannot have an effect on the world in which they live. Three prominent examples of these in fairly recent history include Mary Shelley, Christopher Paolini,…

The minimum driving age should not be raised from 16 to 18. In my opinion, teens already have a problem getting where they need to go considering their transportation is usually their parents. By the time they come home from work they are too exhausted to drive anywhere else. Starting out early than waiting until one becomes a legal adult to drive gives a teenager an opportunity to exercise responsibility and to have some independence. Just because teens are prone to do reckless, irresponsible things does not necessarily mean they will get into accidents because they are younger.…
