Importance Of Teaching Methods

Throughout my life I have been intrigued by the teaching methods of teachers, particularly when it came to the subject of mathematics. Once I entered university, and began to take increasingly more difficult mathematic classes, I realized that the methods of teaching mathematics relied too heavily on the notion of memorization, and not understanding the basic concepts of the material at hand, which is vital in having success in university mathematic courses. Yet, I have felt that neither institution has taught in a manner that best suits the needs of the individual. Singh taught each student such as, creating visuals, storytelling, and applications to real world situations I began to feel that these methods best suited each student 's ability to learn. I truly believe that as a social entrepreneur this is an efficient way of providing value to each single student to satisfy their needs. Since, I lacked understanding the key concepts during the school years, after observing the way Mrs. Singh taught her students, I believe using such teaching methods will improve each student’s desires. As a mathematics student, I am most comfortable in teaching on the subject of mathematics, rather than any other courses. Thus, I feel having a team with each person having different skills, interests, perceptive and specializing in different areas of their studies will help the students more. This way the students who are struggling in a particular area in their studies will be provided one-on-one help from a team member who specializes in that specific area.

Thus, New Heights Tutoring Centre has influenced my decision of becoming a social entrepreneur to help those students in need during after school hours as they are not able to understand the fundamental concepts of specific subjects during school hours. This way I feel my team and I will be able to assist students to master each of the concepts they are struggling with and ensuring that the students are confident with the
