Not only has RAMP help me with my reading levels and grammar understanding, but also in my speech. Gaining knowledge on vocabulary has helped me speak more comfortably and understanding the meaning of sentence by just listening to them. One of the workshops held by Ramp that I found most inspiring this quarter was the Professional Spotlight. After listening to the guest speaker I felt that I had to expand my horizon and think of ways that my degree can impact others not only myself and my future. I learned that no matter what your background is or the difficulties you are having, you can always impact the lives of those around you with the simplest thing someone does. As a first generation I got the will to push even harder to earn my degree with the best efforts and to not let myself go down because I have the opportunity that not everyone has. Even though the obstacles are hard and difficult that I can achieve and get passed them. The RAMP Counselor was the first to ask me how school was going economically, schedule, activities, and even academics. This helped me feel more welcome because the counselor actually wanted to get to know me and find what interest I had in. I found the most impact I had was when I received an email with internship opportunities and a program that call poly Pomona has with companies so students can get experience in the field of interest. I found this most helpful because it showed me that RAMP actually cares about the futures of the students and wants all the students to succeed in life. This showed me that there are

Some changes through the semester I believe were immensely beneficial to my writing, while others; now that I am aware of them I can work to change them into more productive habits that will help me and my writing to improve. One of the questions asked on the survey that I found the most intriguing was my change in how I answered a question concerning if I ever came up with new intuitive ideas concerning my topic. My answer went from rarely, and changed to often, which I believe is greatly connected to the significant amount of time we spent in class going over and examining essays in class. The class discussions that we have had have greatly helped me to see and examine what is being said in a more insightful way, which has significantly helped me to create my own in depth perspective. My overall experience with English 219 has been an incredibly positive one, I have learned a surplus of beneficial factors about myself concerning my writing, and many useful tips to use and apply to my writing throughout class and through the WSI survey.…
