Exposition Essay #1 – Development by Example
(Participation (in a sport, club, hobby, or event teaches valuable lessons) “I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, and my health to better living, for my club, my community, my country and my world”. 4-H is a youth organization administered by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture of the United States Department of Agriculture also known as the USDA, with the mission of attracting youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing youth development. I’ve participated in 4-H for 11 years. My experiences in 4-H have been life changing. Being part of a club teaches you responsibility, teamwork, leadership and commitment/dedication. Being in 4-H takes a lot of responsibility. We take lead in a movement for positive change in every community. The youth in 4-H are a living breathing, culture changing revolution for doing the right thing. “To make the Best Better.” Breaking through obstacles and pushing our country forward by making a significantly difference right where we live. I take cattle for my 4-H project. When taking an animal for 4-H, I am responsible for providing shelter, food, and water. Responsibility is a huge part in 4-H. 4-H gives you the chance to meet new people. By working together to achieve high goals. Being in a club is just like being in a sport. Being a leader is using personal knowledge, skills and influence to create relationships with others and help them to meet their goals. Being a leader takes being a person with good character.
