Life is full of countless ups and downs. Things haven’t always gone the way I’ve desired and many times I’ve fallen in defeat to adversity. Sometimes I’m overcome with doubt and disbelief in myself and my future. That’s all just part of growing up, though, and maturing as a human being. Growing up in the small town of Dubuque, I’ve found that family and friends are what make life worth living. They’re the people that have picked me up when I’m down and pushed me forward. Without these people, I would have never come to realize the many important aspects of life and development. Another way to become a quality writer is by practicing your craft and constantly doing it. By writing all sorts of literary pieces I found out what my strengths and weaknesses are in writing. One thing that I succeed in while writing is using detail and precision. I like to explain what I say with proper grammar and fluency. I’ve found that this strength in detail is also one of my biggest weaknesses, though. Many times I struggle at using a small economy of words and drag sentences on. This can cause my reader to lose interest and ineffectively reveal my message. Over time, I’ve also found that I do a quality job catching my reader’s interest and introducing my topic. Constructing an effective introduction is still one of the most challenging and time consuming task for me, though. One writing form that I’ve found is comes very easy to me is research papers. I find it thrilling to find new interesting information to incorporate into my piece and always dive deep into the subject. Like all writing, one of the best reasons that I’ve found success in this is because I’ve done it countless times. This tag line said “start here, go anywhere!” This is going to be an attitude I set out for at the beginning of this next part of my life. If I start to read more books and take more time writing then I can reach any goal I’ve thought up. My reading so far has created thoughts that inspire me to know more and wonder about the future. By doing more reading and practicing my craft in writing, I won’t have to wonder where my life is going. I will have control of it and have thoughts deeper than I could even imagine. By starting to read and write more in my life I will have countless opportunities starting in two years.
