In order to achieve success in Legal foundations of business, it is important for me to understand the information on the syllabus as this is what will be expected of me. If I want to be top of the class I need to be an overachiever. I will commence my journey to success by arriving to class early. If I miss class, I will end up missing valuable information that helps me understand the material. In order to prevent this from occurring, I will leave my home an hour and a half early in order to ensure that I make it on time and receive full credit for the day. From the few days I have been enrolled on the course, I understand that it will be rigorous but it will allow me for me to grow intellectually. I will prepare efficiently in order to have a great presentation and be ready to defend my argument on the court case. I will also utilize critical thinking throughout the course. I am not the greatest public speaker, but based on the structure of the course, throughout the year I will get out of my comfort zone and communicate with authority and clarity. It is good to practice these skills early in order to prepare for future internships and jobs. The course also requires a sufficient amount of writing, which means that I will begin working on essays early in order to prevent grammatical errors and hand in a well written essay. I will surpass the 500 word minimum which is only a C+. Writing these many words weekly for a single course is something I am not accustomed to, but it is a challenge I am willing to take up. Writing in abundance will allow become a better writer. In the workforce, especially in a finance oriented career, it is important to have excellent writing skills. When on procrastinates it leaves room for error that can impose a detrimental effect on the assignment or preparation. If I do procrastinate it will only bring me more stress. In order to prevent this from occurring it important to manage time wisely. Time management is an important skill to master because the individual’s performance level depends highly on it. In order to make sure I have sufficient time to complete each task, I will formulate goals and follow a schedule. Having the course calendar on my phone is essential because it will remind me of an upcoming due date. It is important to have a hard copy of the calendar because technology tends to fail at times. Furthermore, when test, midterms and finals are approaching, it is important to begin studying two weeks before. I will plan accordingly and begin gathering my notes and joining a study group to review all the material to obtain an adequate grade. The night before an exam, I will take a quick glance at my notes and review concepts that I have struggled with. The day before an exam, I will make sure to get approximately eight hours of sleep and have a light breakfast. I will remain calm and constantly tell myself that I have mastered the necessary
