In the present fast-paced age, we are “online”, and checking our gadgets almost all the time (smart phones at least – with it’s now established drawbacks and negative effects on our personal & social life, anxiety, self-esteem, and increased instant gratification attitude). In the process, we overlook the essential “status check” to be carried out on our motivation levels, and balancing of our emotions affecting our lives. Such a situation can indeed turn dangerous for some people, and many may feel that the easiest way to get rid of their problems is by taking some harsh actions, including the extreme act of committing suicide. Let us fill our mind with the highest thoughts, speak them to ourselves, hear them day after day and think them moment after moment. We should not mind failures and struggles – they are natural. If we fail a thousand times, let us make a sincere attempt, one more time, to get up and achieve what we actually want to achieve.
Human beings have the power to concentrate. We can all concentrate upon those things that we love, and it is only natural that we will love those things upon which we concentrate our minds. We will then be able to control our mind instead of it controlling us.
The beauty is that concentration can be improved by developing the power of detachment. The power of the human mind is limitless. Regular and regulated breathing is the start point that puts our body in a harmonious condition, and it then becomes easier to reach the mind.
With passage of time and proper practice, we will be able to learn that nothing in this universe has the power over us, until we allow it to exercise such a power. We are the masters of our thoughts and thus our mind - not the other way
