Why Sports Is Important To Me

I am a 20 year old man and I absolutely love talking about sports to everyone and anyone whether they are willing to listen or not. I even enjoy talking to those who don’t really care at all about sports. Many people have told me multiple times that they don’t care to hear it. But, if you asked me what my favorite sport to watch is I would tell you that I love watching all of them equally. If you ask me what sport was on television or who was playing, I could most likely tell you. If you told me that the Boston Celtics, New York Yankees, or San Francisco 49ers was playing, I would tell you to switch to all of them. I never understood it. I would never give it a chance until one player that I admired while watching the Ohio State Buckeyes back in 2006 was drafted into the NFL (National Football League). Ted Ginn Jr., former wide receiver for the Ohio State Buckeyes, was the fastest person in college football at the time. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins and got traded to the San Francisco 49ers a few years later. I followed him as he played and became obsessed myself with the San Francisco 49ers team. I kept my eye on the 49ers head coach, Jim Harbaugh. He was a positive role model for the players and the team and began to turn a franchise around that had been struggling since their last Super Bowl win in 1995. I was intrigued and impressed at the same time by watching the players, highlights, and even history of the team. I discovered that one of the past owners (Edward J. DeBartolo) and the current owner (Judd York) of the 49ers are from Youngstown, Ohio. This is where I was born.
