My Middle School Life

I was an active kid throughout my childhood. Playing sports was something I really enjoyed. At the age of seven was when I first started playing organized sports; the first sport I ever played was soccer. During that time nothing was more fun than playing soccer. My mom would be the one that would take me to all my games; it was rare the times my dad would go. As I grew older I decided to try a different sport, so at the age of eleven, I started playing basketball at the YMCA. I remember how fun it was when we had practice, however, at times my coach would put us to play pick up games with kids that were older, so it was quite intimidating. Once I turned twelve, I joined the school basketball team in my middle school. As far I could recall …show more content…
I have great memories of middle school, but the most memorable moments came while playing for the basketball team. One of the most memorable experiences during my middle school years was when we made it to the basketball championship game and ended up winning it. The experiences of middle school are unforgettable and priceless. I enjoyed all the teachers I had throughout middle school; they really took the extra time to help their students understand the material being taught. I considered myself a good student; I got good grades and rarely got in …show more content…
My grandma was like my second mother she was protective and very loving towards me. My grandparents also took the time to take me out to the park to play on the playgrounds. My mom’s brothers also were important figures in my childhood. I was introduced to sports because of them, and as a result, my weekends consisted of either basketball or soccer games, I had no time to wonder around my neighborhood.

I can honestly say that I have been blessed by not having to deal with many traumatic experiences. However, at a young age, probably around twelve years of age my oldest sister, which at that time was fourteen years of age, shockingly decided to run away from home. That day I woke up like any other school day to get ready to go to school, but I could hear my mom crying in her room. Therefore, I decided to ask my mom what was wrong and she told me that my sister had run away from home. I was confused and worried because I could not come to the realization that my sister would do something this tragic. I started crying in my room. After a few minutes passed and not having heard anything from my sister, my dad decided to go look for her around the neighborhood. Since my grandparents own an apartment complex not too far from my house, it was ideal to go look for her there. My dad was right, we found her inside my grandpa’s storage room. It took me a while

My first day of middle school was hell, I have always been good at school. My grades have never been bad and neither have my actions and or attendance. Probably from having a mom that is also a teacher. I look at that as a good thing though, watching kids just goof off and not come to school then high school rolled around and it was like I got to look down on them because they did not prepare for bigger and better things. School wasn't bad for me because it was hard, it was bad because i was always shy in school.…

I was never a sporty kid. For the majority of my childhood, my hobbies have included reading, playing video games, and other generic nerd activities. If you had asked me if I wanted to play a sport, I would have laughed at the prospect, so I surprised even myself when I answered yes to my mother’s inquiry about joining my school’s new flag football team.…

The idea to be athlete never interested me. I was couch potato that watched too many movies. Unfortunately, this led me to become overweight. That’s when I decided to try out for the only sports team in my middle school, basketball. Surprisingly I didn’t make the team. Later, in the year a soccer team was formed. I tried out for the team. I was selected for the team regardless that I didn’t know how to kick the ball in the right direction. Even though my team never won a game I knew that I enjoyed this sport.…

Middle school, a time of cringe worthy moments and regret. I like to refer to this story as my “Middle School Mid-Life Crisis”, since I questioned the purpose of going to school almost every day, and never felt motivated to do anything. Dreading almost every day of school, not having stable mental, emotional, or physical health, and feeling dissatisfied with myself as a student. My mind set was always on countdown mode, “I just have to make it through this class period. I only have 20 more problems to do.” There was not a moment where I could enjoy the present. There is no denial of how much of a mess I was all throughout 6th, 7th, and a portion of 8th grade.…

It all started when I was in middle school, although its affected me my whole life. When I started growing up more than the rest of the students and not growing in a good way. I was gaining more and more weight, while everyone else was staying skinny. I was always the bigger person, always being called fat, slow, pig and other hurtful names. I just came to the fact of me being a bigger person. I was a very picky and nonactive child. It caused me to just eat junk food and stay inside because no-one would do anything with me.…

According to Zooey Deschanel, nothing can be as hard as middle school. I was a tremendous scaredy cat when I started middle school in 5th grade. My guts were flipping and flopping on that first day. Even though I didn’t know any teachers or friends, I made new friends and met new teachers. I had Mrs. Wherley as a homeroom teacher, she was nice as pie to me. I liked how we could move around to classes instead of staying in one class for the whole day. The first few days I felt like I was part of a cattle drive and I was a little cow.…

As I got older apartments no longer were my haven. I was in school more often and forgot about my wonderland. Henceforth, I had to leave behind childish behavior and learn to be a proper child. The first school I went to was Coronado Village Elementary School. There I met people like Ms. Galicio, who would dress up like Thing One, would go all out on book celebrations. I met a new species of counselor, who would use puppets to teach the values of a good person. Seeing people like this allowed me to be awkward and out of the ordinary. So, this realization helped me with my transition into middle school.…

In my opinion middle school was going to be the scariest part of my life. That’s what thought until a month into it, I realized it was a not so bad. I made tons of new friends and I liked all of my teachers. It was a lot different than elementary school. The only thing I did not like was having to walk class to class every hour with only 3 minutes to do so. Now let me tell you about my first couple months of school. The first day of middle school, I was very nervous. I did not know where to go and I had no idea who my teachers were. I…
