Can Society Function Without Respect?
Word Count:700 There are many different forms of a society that play a part in our lives. A society could be a city, town, community, sports team, or club. It takes various amounts of people to form a society because they must communicate with each one another. It is hard to communicate with someone when they are lacking respect. This is why a society can’t function without respect. First of all, respect is a way to show a person that you appreciate them. It helps people get along and understand each other better. People work more efficiently when they get along, this allows them to feel more comfortable with each other and be more open. A society requires people to have open opinions and respect because if nobody came up with an idea of how a society should be ran, then nobody could agree. Certain people with disrespect can be outweighed by the others showing respect and the society could still function, but it would definitely be less efficient. Not all people have to support each others opinions to still prosper as a society, but they should know the difference between not agreeing and showing disrespect. There is big difference between when a person doesn’t agree with another and they still get along, but when they don’t agree and criticize them with disrespect all the trouble begins. It would a rare and uncommon society if everybody agreed with one another because that's not how people are in general. It could also be a bad thing if everybody agreed because then they could be one- sided and only listen to what one person says without voicing their own opinion.
