Krishnakumar and Neck (2002) found that spirituality at workplace enhances creativity, honesty and commitment which will lead to increased organizational performance and worker’s well-being. Reave (2005) pointed out the significant relationship between spirituality and mental health indices of life satisfaction, happiness, self-esteem, hope and meaning in life. Work is a major factor in people’s lives. What goes on to work and how it is performed are the factors which gives an individual a sense of purpose and meaningfulness. Meaningful work is an important factor on psychological empowerment (Spreitzer, 1995). Meaningful work has strong relationship between job satisfaction and employee well-being (Maynard, et al. 2012). According to Arnold (2007) meaningful work displays positive influence on psychological well-being through leader-member exchange behavior. Aristotle proclaims well-being as a sense of happiness from eudaimonic perspective- a state of meaningfulness and fulfilment (Ryff and Singer, 2006). He believed that meaningfulness or purposefulness was not just about satisfying human needs, but, doing virtuous deeds, so that the best is accomplished (Ryff and Singer, 2006). Sense of community refers to a personal quality that brings a strong attachment between people and their communities, be the geographical bodies such as neighbourhoods or functional bodies such as clinical treatment groups or workplace (Davidson and Cotter, 2001). Sense of community is a feeling of having belongingness over the group and being influenced by the group. This has a strong influence on an individuals’ behavior in the social context and at workplaces. This develops a sense of connection and positive pro-social behavior among workers and enhances their ability to live a holistic life.
