People who are against same-sex marriage, believe that it violates tradition. Most people assume that marriage is just about one male and one female, but that is not true. Tradition is not just about marriage, it also includes women did not have rights, people owned slaves, and when people were thought to have committed a crime were executed solely based on the accusation and not evidence. It is now 2016 and tradition has completely change since then.
