Sacrifice, the key to achieving your dreams
Have you ever, wondered how do people become so successful. Or, what does it take to become successful? The simple answer to your question is they choose to “sacrifice.” The virtue of sacrifice has been around and implemented in society, cultures and daily lives for millions of years and much more to come. As a matter of fact, Jesus was one of the very first forms of sacrifice in history, as he sacrificed his life for the greater good of billions of people around the world. Since then the virtue of sacrifice has been passed down year after year in various forms. One may say an opportunity to advance my life and achieve my dreams. However, expressly today many will say that sacrifice is unnecessary work, pain, stress, and most of all, more effort. Those who see sacrifice from a negative perspective, fail to realize the true power that sacrifice truly possess and for that they pay a heavy price. They choose not to grow and advance their lives; therefore, they will never achieve the results they were seeking. Those that do not sacrifice will never experience the joy of success, simply because all achievements require sacrifice. On the other hand, those who see sacrifice from a positive perspective end up growing and advancing their lives. They achieve their dreams, feeling how great being successful can be. So, what is a sacrifice? According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, one definition of sacrifice is the destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else(https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sacrifice). To put it in context sacrifice means that you are willing to give up what you are now for what you will become in the future. It has the power to change one’s life into a successful life. Many choose not to sacrifice because the prerequisite is simply too much. See, sacrifice is for people who are strong, determined and are courageous, not for those who are weak and cowardly. There are many different forms of sacrifice, as some forms, such as human sacrifice date back centuries ago. Today, people who serve make the ultimate sacrifice and risk their lives every day to protect their country. All achievements require sacrifice. All sacrifices hurt unless it would not be a sacrifice. At the end of the day, the question you need to ask yourself is how bad do I want to be successful?
