Personal Reflection Of A Risk Project

Improved Essays
This RISK project has inspired me in different ways, not always, has taking risks for me been an easy thing to do. Risk taking makes me feel like i’m not in control of the outcome and it could very much affect things that I wouldn’t like it to. This project has affected my personality in favorable ways. Being more open to risky things for me has been a valuable experience overall. I really like the idea of being able to take risks, and this project has made me realize that I can do risky things, and it’s not always a horrible thing. I have chosen to do this project because Mr. Rinehart has inspired me to step outside the box and try something new. I wanted to expand, and do something that was totally different from the average geometry or even …show more content…
Incorporating art into geometry has been fun, but it’s had its challenges. Many challenges I have faced are getting all the triangles to line up and stick onto my pot. I’m working with different sizes and they not all the time want to work together. I have also faced the problem of how to connect this to the geometric world. I have been through the geometry book countless times and have looked through pages of postulates, theorems, and even lessons. Nothing has really stood out to me, but I eventually found a theorem that I really liked. I finally chose how I could connect it to geometry. I decided to use the SSS and SAS congruence theorems. I think that making this into a visual for students to see will help them remember these theorems. I know I’m a visual learner and I think that we should use more visuals in the learning process. I believe that this RISKy project fulfills the RISK protocol because I am surely reaching outside my comfort zone as I have originally stated above. Making this project intentionally different from everyone else is happening, and I love that we have the ability to use our imagination, it’s not used much in school …show more content…
Keeping track of my thoughts, success, and ideas etc. has been a challenge I do admit because I work here and there and not always elaborate on what I did with my notebook log. It’s also been a challenge for me to find the time with such an occupied schedule, but I’m encouraged to find the time and make this happen as it could help many. I have had many difficulties in this long process of risk taking as I have stated, but the biggest difficulty I have faced was when my whole project had gotten shattered. I put a lot of work in putting my pot together and making it a piece of art only to have it smashed on the floor. Here it is 3 days before the project is due and I now have to create a whole new project and I don’t have time to redo my whole project again. This was by far my biggest complication that I faced during my project, but I have persevered through and made a totally new project that in my opinion didn’t turn out badly just not what I had originally planned to do and that’s okay with me. This is just another way that this project has been a RISK and pushed me beyond my comfort zone. I have tackled all these challenges with the help and support of peers, parents, and even

These visuals should be easy to read and understand. The teacher should also make sure to cover what can be found in the visuals. It would also be a good idea to tie into manipulatives that will allow the students to learn the information in a variety of ways. During my junior year at Stephen Decatur High School, I was enrolled in American Literature with Mrs. Moore. At first I thought she was a hard teacher because she made us write a lot. I enjoyed writing creative pieces, but in her class she gave us a prompt or we had to analyze a text and prove how the author believed in the American Dream or not. The first essay we wrote I scored a 29 out of 30 and was proud of myself because English has not always been my strongest subject. Our next assignment was on The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.…

It's better to take the risks to make life more fun in ways you can't think of. If we didn't take risks in life we wouldn’t have any fun and we wouldn't have any inventions and the world would be in stone age again, But we did take risks and now we are venturing into the future. I know that if we didn't take risks our world would be safer, but the people that took a risk made history like Thomas Edison who made the first light bulb. It is better to take risks and make mistakes because you can learn from your mistakes, you can achieve more, and you can learn about what you like and dislike. First, its good for taking risk is because we can learn from our mistakes.…

In this class I learned about how to be a better team member. This semester I was reminded of how important communication is and how people need to keep emphasizing it as one of the most important skills any person could possesses. The personality test was useful, I think it gave all of us a good way to start to see how everyone is different.
