Respect is the esteem for or a sense of the worth or excellence of a person. There are certain things that one should hold the utmost respect for; respect in the home, respect for your elders, and respect for one’s school.
One of the most important places to show respect is at home, this is what forms a strong relationship between someone and their family members in the household. Listening to one another is one of the ways to show respect to others in that person’s home. If someone listens to someone else in the household, then one is showing that they respect the other person’s opinion and respect the fact that they feel as though what they are saying needs to be said. One must show respect to the administration and teachers in order to have a good name within the school. Someone’s administration and teachers are the ones who send off recommendation letters and put in good words for possible colleges or jobs, so one should respect them for this reason and because they are above and in charge over the students. By respecting the higher power, one is showing that they know who is in charge and respect the fact that they should obey the administration and teacher’s rules that they might have. Also, one must show respect to other students in the school. It is important to treat others with respect in order to have positive relationships. Being respectful towards people is a key aspect in life in order to form and maintain positive relationships in order to become successful. If you treat others with respect and kindness, they will more than likely treat you the same, causing a positive and healthy environment. Last but not least, one should respect their school by doing everything in one’s power to keep it clean. By keeping the school clean, someone is respecting the fact that their are other people at the school who do not want trash everywhere, and they are respecting the custodians by making their job easier and not just leaving their mess for other people to clean up because “it’s their
