Growing up in the developing country, Burma, I had experienced challenges in my family accessing to quality care. Doctors often failed to listen to patient’s concerns and pharmacies are just merely drug sellers who lack professional trainings. Such lack of pharmacists and poor health system was the motivation for me to pursue a pharmacy degree in Australia. I spent 4 years completing my pharmacy degree and immersing myself rotating and volunteering in variety of healthcare settings – community and hospital pharmacies, clinics, and medical center.

My trilingual has also allowed me to serve diverse health population. Although I have been successful in caring for my practice population, I feel the need to understand the broader concept of public health in order to implement a change. The program will afford me to hone my leadership and research skill as the course curricula in policy analysis, research methods, leadership, applied HPM projects and working with a faulty advisor appeal to me very much. I am interested in PROFESSOR NAME, Professor projects . In addition, as an active member of New York City Society of heath-system pharmacist (NYCSHSP), I plan to apply in-class knowledge there and work with pharmacy leaders across NY metropolitan hospitals. Thus, with many research centers and global projects worldwide, I am confident that Columbia’s 1 year accelerated program is an excellent fit for my career goal to research, evaluate and develop evidence-based sustainable systems capable of real added value to both Australian and international community.
