I am the President of COMM-unity, the only communication club on Concordia’s campus. This club is required to complete twenty hours of community service per semester. Through Concordia’s program, Concordia Cares, I have dedicated my time to Second Harvest Food Bank and packed foods such as carrots, apples, and potatoes to be shipped to people in need. I plan on being a substantial impact on the amount of community service hours COMM-unity participates in each semester. Twenty hours is a minimum, but I believe this is the most influential activity university clubs can participate in and we should go above and beyond to be servants I our community. I was also recently accepted as a member of the national leadership society Omicron Delta Kappa, I will be an official member starting fall semester of 2016. This society also has a community service requirement which I plan on being a large participant of. Both of these opportunities and their community service projects would not have been open to me had I not submerged myself so deep into the communication program offered at Concordia
