Jointing AFJROTC has changed my overall attitude of how I view the Air Force. It has allowed me to get a better insight on how things are run in the Air Force. AFJROTC has allowed me to build my character and leadership skills through structure, discipline, activities and community service. AFJROTC builds character and leadership through discipline and structure. AFJROTC does so by creating a certain set of rules with certain punishments if you don’t follow them. This class helps you learn that punishment is a measure to deal with bad elements, whether in the house, school or in society. Punishment is necessary in some aspects. It prevents people from committing any form of crime. People will be more careful of what they do in public places

It helped me come to the understanding that teachers and students must work together as team and sometimes they are required to work very closely together so being honest and respectful makes for a very effective team. An individual should want to have characteristics of being honest and respectful to anyone in school and outside of school whether they dislike someone. Each individual has the right to that respect and honesty. Communication is simply the act of transferring information from one place to another, whether this be vocally, written, or digital media such as books, magazines, website or visually, or not verbally. Communication is the heart of every organization. Everything we do in life results from communication. Therefore good reading, writing, speaking and listening skills are essential if tasks are going to be completed and goals achieved. I learned that as you develop your career you will find various reasons why successful communication skills are important to you.
AFJROTC has perpetrated me for life after high school by teacher me to make better chooses in life, by what I want to do in the future. It teaches individuals citizenships, leadership, character and community service. It helped me work better with others and be able to clearly express yourself.
