Having privacy is important because it relieves stress that could be possibly caused by other people | In a care setting such as a prison, you have very little privacy. A prisoner is unable to make most decisions for them self. In solitary confinement, a prisoner would have a certain amount of privacy, as they are in their own cell due to the safety of themselves or others. Although, they would be regularly watch by prison staff and cameras. | Dignity | Being treated and looked at with respect. | Being treated with dignity can make people feel much more confident and secure. Dignity makes people feel importance and equality. Patients having dignity is very important, because in cases where staff make patients feel like there is no dignity, can make them feel very belittled and vulnerable. | In a care setting such as a prison, prisoners would be expected to be treated with dignity and respect by both prison staff and other prisoners inside. This can give a person multiple skills, and confidence and experience to feel generally better and have something to do with their time | In a care setting such as a prison, occupations like educational courses can be very important to improve a prisoner’s work experience. Occupations such as chores, like washing clothes and doing set jobs round the prison can give the prisoners something to do with themselves and use their time. | Stimulation | Having interests, fun and excitement | Having stimulation in a care setting would be very important so that a client would not get bored and feel isolated. Having interests, fun and excitement can help the patient’s emotions and make them much happier within their environment. | In a prison, having stimulation is very important as it can make their mood become much more positive. It provides a safer feeling environment, and minimizes boredom. 1
