Improved Essays
I have many pet peeves. While they may seem insignificant or noticeable, I certainly noticeable. Also, a lot of these happen domestically, with my family. My first is the light in an empty room. I have a strong desire for the light to be off in a walled off room if there is no one in it. Every night when I go to bed, I turn off my room light and blindly trip and high step my way through my room until I can reach my bed light. Purposefully, this is within arms reach of my ed where I can find the switch and turn off the light when I am feeling tired, without having to get up or even open my eyes. Somehow, this does not apply to foyers or lobbies. This habit is frequently practiced by my parents and brother. My brother tends to forget to turn his light off and I have the urge to do it myself. My parents, however, know they are leaving the light on. They believe in the morning after they take their showers, that leaving the light on will help steam disappear even faster along with the fan in the bathroom. I do not have a problem with the fan, it is doing its job. However, the light does nothing. If anything, iots miniscule amount of heat is actually adding to the steam. …show more content…

When people act obnoxious and disrespectful, I would just like to go up to them and say “I was at about six there. Don’t make me go to ten”, a quote said by Dale in Step Brothers. My pet peeves involve the disrespectful actions of high school students. It really irks me when people in band just don’t play their music correctly or march properly. If we have been practicing the same song for a short amount of time, then I understand if most don’t pick up the notes right away.…

I interviewed my seventy-five year old grandpa Donnie, researched the Voyles lineage book that my grandma Arlene helped compile, and talked with my dad in order to find out more about my family’s history. According to Grandpa Donnie, it all began in 1759 when Jacob Voils, his wife, and his four sons landed in Port Charleston from Wales. Jacob was a poor man and could not afford the family’s way to Charleston. Desperate, he made a deal with the ship’s captain to indenture his oldest son William Voils as a crew hand for four years in exchange for the family’s way. Upon regaining his freedom, William furiously changed the spelling of his last name to Voyles to break all ties from his father Jacob.…

Often I found myself getting into trouble because I didn 't listen and also the fact that I always found some kind of way to slipping out of having to doing something that I knew I was supposed to do.
