I have spent many long and hard nights at the gym going over and over routines countless times, conditioning until I can't feel my limbs anymore, and studied videos and pictures of my form critiquing myself until I have found out every single specific thing that I need to fix. Winning first place at leagues was such an amazing moment for me because all of my hard work, sweat, and tears had not been for nothing and I was able to prove, not just to myself, but to others that I was capable of contributing to my team and winning and award that meant something. This moment showed me that all of the extra days I had practiced at the gym, on my club team, paid off because; while they were dedicated, I had put in more time in gym than any other athletes I was going up against. Also, this was a significant moment for me because my mom has always been very supportive of me and, although I am not the best athlete, I was finally able to show my mom that I had taken to heart her saying, “ if you want something, work for it.” Another significant life lesson I learned, was that having goal are extremely important if you want to continue to grow as an athlete because you focus more on your training; this lesson also applies to everyday
