Misbehaved In Your Classroom

I would respond to a child who constantly misbehaved in my classroom by using classroom management skills along with teaching behaviors that were appropriate with the problem that I was faced with. I would communicate with the child to see why they were behaving that way and see if there was anything I could do to calm down the child. I would enforce class rules and create a personal behavior plan for that student to follow.
When a professor knows my name it makes me feel like the teacher cares about me. It means that they took time to get to know me and that I’m not just a person sitting in a desk but a student who came her to learn their classroom.
Pre- and post- teaching routines may change depending on the school because you never know what kind of students you will have, the environment you may be in, or the situations you may face on a daily basis.
It is important for teachers to know their own trigger points because they need to know how to calm their body down before talking to a student so things don’t escalate. When you’re a teacher you need to calmly speak to students during difficult situations. My trigger points are when students are disrespectful to me or other students.

There are many classroom management skills a teacher should use on a daily basis with their students. Teachers should address behavior issues within the classroom quickly and promptly so that students know how they are expected to act in the classroom. Use cues for when students need to be quiet and when they need to transition to different classrooms or when changing the subject. Always have an engaging curriculum that accommodates all students where they learn but at the same time have fun. Have a daily routine we follow everyday so the students know exactly what’s happening throughout the day and what I expect out of

Educating Esme is a story of a teacher’s thoughts, teachings and life before and during her first year teaching in Chicago. The book begins with her talking of her mentor and how she taught her to love the children and jump in and take charge. Madame Esme as she likes to be called lands a job at an enter city Chicago public school, she begins the time before school starts with ideas for a story book festival that gets shot down and with a battle for her “not legal” name to be her formal name at the school. She bumps heads with the principal in this area, yet he wants her to be at his beck and call, calling all hours and doing tons of extra paper work for him. I love that she has so much excitement in setting up her room and making it her own, she goes into such detail about the boards she makes and how proud she is for that first day.…

Two core teaching strategies that I utilize most in my classroom are classroom management and accountability. Classroom management I believe is key to any successful classroom. If you do not have control of your class you will lose countless hours of instruction that you can never gain back. You have not only wasted your time but more importantly you have wasted your students time of learning. By ruinning a tight ship and well planned out lessons and over planning you will cut out time for horseplay and side conversations in the classroom.…

If I able to understand the reason for the behavior, I can react more wisely with kids and when I have conversation with classmates or parents. It helps me remember that if I have difficult situation with a particular kid, it is not because the child is so bad, but there are reasons that affect the child's behavior. As I understand the possible causes of the child's behavior, as a teacher I can try to help the child to understand and eliminate these causes or to learn to express their opinions in other ways. Most of the time the aggressive behavior is understandable. If I react just with patience on inappropriate behavior of a one child it can be a tacit approval of his/her behavior to other children.…

At this preschool, their program is based on the Creative Curriculum, according to the Maslow’s Theory when students have food in them, and a safe and welcoming environment, they are more likely to learn. When starting the day off the teacher’s role is to, tend to the children and their basic needs (physiological needs). So, the teacher makes sure all children have been given the opportunity to have breakfast, use the bathroom, brush their teeth, and wash their hands before starting any type of activity for the day. As a special education teacher candidate, my belief about special education is that it is necessary for all students with disabilities that are not academically successful. The role of special education in the schools is to provide students with special needs, an education that is a free, appropriate, public education in the least restrictive environment. Students need to be educated in the setting where their needs are met and they can be most academically successful. My role as a special educator is to provide accommodations and modifications to help the student reach academic success. I believe students learn in a variety of ways.…

Make sure that my lesson includes activities in which students have to use their logic. The lessons should contain a variety of instructional strategies to make sure that every student in the classroom has the opportunity to achieve the goals that I’m looking at as a teacher. If I see that one or two students are struggling with a lesson, make sure we are looking at options so these students don’t get left behind. Always set the goals high for everybody, this will maintain a standard progress in the classroom. Make sure that as a teacher we are establishing the goals and rules clearly throughout the year so the students create a structure.…

Principals have a big influence on the behavior management of the school. Many principals leave those roles to the teachers and intervene when necessary. But principals can also have a say on the type of discipline the teachers can use. I was interesting in reading more about what roles principals play when it comes to behavior management. I have seen over the past three years how behavior issues have changed at our school, and a lot of it has to do with our changes in principals.…

Teachers are versatile, not only in subject but in job requirements. Over the course of my fifteen plus hours of observing I found one thing that stuck out most often each day, a teacher’s job is of course to teach, but also learn each day. The degree only will take a teacher so far, educational classes teach the basics, and provided the guidelines to help students turn into teachers, but it is not matter of hours or training that makes a teacher great, it is the ability to adopt. Again, not to just subject matter, or every changing state requirements, or even the administration 's own rules. The adaptation that is most profoundly important is how a teacher communicates with each student.…

For me I would want to use management techniques that do not single out or embarrass a specific student, because that will only perpetuate the problem. I also want to focus more on attempting to correct the overall problem, if there is one, instead of only treating the outbursts as they come. The teacher I observed for Interview #2 had a really great idea when it came to classroom management; at the beginning of the year she had all of her students create a classroom rules guide collectively, and that served as an outline for the rest of the year. I really like how that incorporates the students and they are able to come up with some of their own ideas about how a classroom should act and function. I would also like to create some sort of reward system, where students are giving rewards for doing things such as turning in all their homework for the week, or getting an in-class assignment done quietly, and efficiently; I want to support good behaviors more than I want to condemn poor…

Some of these strategies include being prepared for class, being creative and imaginative, and keeping students involved in their learning. It was highly recommended that when we have our own students that we send a letter home or call the house of each student in the class to say that we are enjoying having the student in our class. This is especially important for the students with bad behavior. This will help build a positive relationship with the student and his parents. The most important thing to remember when managing my classroom is to know my students.…

A technique mentioned within my interview was establishing rapport with each and every one of the student as it goes a long way to becoming an effective teacher. By doing so, it contributes towards other areas, such as dealing with disruptive students. Having that one-on-one relationship with the student who is being disruptive gives the teacher an opportunity at knowing the student at a personal level, thus making it easier to get to the root of what is bothering or making the student disruptive. With overlapping activities in a classroom being a risk of misbehavior as mentioned by my interviewee, it is the teacher’s responsibility to diminish whatever disruptive behavior is occurring. As these establishments are made throughout the year, it is highly important towards setting the tone of who is in charge at the beginning of the year as well as setting an effective behavior management plan since day one.…

My management plan is for the primary students who are entering a new stage in the development of thinking that Piaget (1963) referred to as the stage of concrete operations. “The result is that thinking takes on a more logical, more orderly appearance” (Hughes, 2010, Para.7). As a result, they will be able to understand clearly the consequences of their behaviours. In order to make my expectation of good behaviour clear for my students, I need to use the following strategies.…
