Old Note from High School
I was cleaning my room one day going through old High School papers., throwing away things that were not very important to me. My friend Ashley was over watching me sorting through old papers, And I came across a drawing that I made for my ex. The picture had his name in big black letters and a rainbow circle around his name. I asked her should I throw this away and she responded by saying yes, I defiantly agree with her why should I keep something I made for a boy I dated in High School years ago. I told him “Hey I brought my old drawing book over, do you want to see it?” he said “Yes of course I would Love too”. So he looks at all my pictures I drew and he really likes them, he thought I was very creative. So I took my book and was happy and flipped through the pages and an old note fell out. And I said “oh I wonder who wrote this?” as I read a few sentences I notice it was from my ex. My boyfriend Thom said “who wrote that?” and I said “uh my ex” immediately snatches it from my hand and said “ Let me read this” I told him to read the note out loud so I can hear, using active listening he reads parts of the note out loud. He was laughing and making fun of how my ex wrote the note. And I told him it was just a note. He didn’t really write like that, I just said it was just a note. Then he continues reading and laughs at some part and criticizes , the note my ex wrote. After that he “said I’m tired of reading this” he uses an illustrator and rips up the note. While using affect display I was surely in shock. I did not think he would do that. And all of a sudden my boyfriend got offended. Going back to Social decentering I have to remember that my boyfriend gets jealous easily, gets upset too quick too fast, and is very stubborn. He said” why do you care so much about that note?” I said “
