The rules and consequences are all clearly outlined around the room. I noticed her classroom decor consist almost entirely of instructional materials. She was going to visit the Ron Clark Academy the next day, and was very excited for the opportunity. I would have expected that she might be annoyed, or burden by having to leave her classroom to attend two full days of workshops, but she was just the opposite. She explained that she had always heard amazing things about the academy from fellow educators and had been requesting to go for some time. The wisdom that the Ron Clark Academy tries to impart on teachers is to 1.) Build bonds with your students 2.) Teachers set the tone of their classroom 3.) To have high expectations for your students. I will say that this teacher definitely set the tone for her classroom with her disposition. Knowing her outside of the classroom she is a very easy going, silly person. However, her classroom was all business. It was by far the quietest classroom I observed and the students seemed focused from beginning to end. I got the sense that she would not have accepted any
