They can be called non-verbal cues; this is very convenient because the teacher does not have to interrupt the class in order to tell the students whether or not they can go to the bathroom, get water, or get a tissue. Another example of a nonverbal cue that my teacher uses is clapping her hands. This is used in most schools where the teacher claps and the students clap back in unison so that they will get quiet.
There is a student in the class that needs some extra help and is behind in some subjects. He has been through the IEP process, an IEP is an individualized education program to insure that the child’s educational needs are met. He has been put into his LRE (least restrictive environment) which is in the classroom with the other students. Although he has aids come into the classroom and help him go over what he needs to go over while the other students are learning with the main teacher.
Overall my experience in the first grade classroom/my personal fieldtrip was very educational. I have learned how well the information we have learned in ELED 304 relates to teaching and every day in the class room. It has given me more experience with children and I am looking forward to spend even more time in
