Importance Of My High School Diploma

Improved Essays
Going to school has been and continues to be a rewarding part of my life as I’ve been able to study and learn in different settings, take part in extracurricular activities and discover what my likes and dislikes are pertaining to school. To this day, I’ve taken two different approaches to obtaining my High School Diploma. Most of my school has been completed in a classroom where there was a teacher teaching as well as students attending at the same time and place. With E-learning, there is a teacher, but all of the material is online where I can learn in the comfort of my home. In a classroom setting, there are set schedules and strict deadlines, alternately with online learning, I’ve been able to learn and complete tasks at my pace. While …show more content…
From grades five to eleven, I participated in band, badminton, and yearbook. Because of my experience growing up in music, I decided I would take part in band where I was able to travel with our school to participate in competitions. Some of those competitions were at Canada’s Wonderland and other local events. Along with the band, I participated in our school’s badminton team. One year, in particular, my teammate and I made it to the semi-finals and ranked second place out of all the school teams in the Ottawa area. Lastly, I was a part of the yearbook committee. I also can underestimate how much time a project will take which causes me to fall behind on my deadline. Distractions in life can further prevent me from meeting deadlines. With a very busy schedule and an extremely active two-year-old, getting things done can be difficult. When I think about deadlines, I am led to think about my future educational goals and the time I have remaining to complete my studies, what I will study following high school and whether I will be able to find a job with the education I obtain. I worry that I am running out of time to get my English course completed after facing so many obstacles that have delayed my progress, furthermore, I don’t think I realized how hard it would be to find time to complete this course. Following High School, I would love to attend college. Saying this, I wonder if what I study will land me a job in the field of learning. I have several friends who completed College or university degrees that have struggled immensely in securing work in their field of study. Deciding on what I want to take is worrisome as I really want to find a field where there is a high demand, ultimately securing me a job. Furthermore, I want to enjoy
