Essay On Military Education

Having been in the military most of my adult life it has been hard to find the time to continue my education. About half way thru my time in the military I realized that I needed to start trying to prepare myself for when I got out. I first started this journey over 10 years ago. Continuing to deploy and do my job this has taken longer then expected. Moving so many times and transferring schools had made for many classes that I will never use. My decision to switch to a degree in General Studies gave me the opportunity to apply some of the classes that I was not required to get at Southern New Hampshire University and use those to make progress. General Studies gave me the chance to explore many options while still following the original degree plan of History. This degree is giving me the opportunity to advance while studying multiple disciplines. During this long journey I have changed to General Education Degree after already having many of the classes that I am required to get a concentration in History. As a former History major it was a good experience. I have learned many ways to do research. Learning to do the research and find the point of view from more than one source and find the truth. Not knowing exactly what I want to do this gave me the opportunity to get the all around college education, and let me receive a concentration in something that I appreciate but not sure if I will be able to apply. The general education experience is something that I would advise for people that just are not sure what career path they want to follow. General education gives the all around experience that you will need in order to succeed. It gives you the opportunity to peruse something you may like, and at the same time get the all around education to help improve your career path what ever that may
